Our Study Guide:
The Technocracy "Continental Design" plan will suffice as a 'Study Guide.' This is a Blueprint of a new method for social operation. It is a relatively large file and It's in what'scalled a "PDF" format. So you will need a "PDF" reader program, such as 'Adobe Reader' to view it.
If you don't have Adobe Reader, go to www.adobe.com and download the program for free.
To download our 'Continental Design' plan, select the words "Download File" which is below this message. You should then be brought to a window in which the File named 'Studyguide.pdf' should appear.
You can then Select the name of the file, and open it, or Right-Click on the file name, and Left-Click on the choice of "Save Target As." After downloading the file, you can of course open it later.

A Misconception about Technocracy
During the last several months, the concept of Technocracy has drawn considerable interest from viewers of our Web Site. Most of the inquiries about Technocracy are for more specific information about our organization, and how one can get involved. More and more people are learning about Technocracy, and asking more and more questions; which is very encouraging to us. We believe that all of you will eventually demand that our society become a Technological Society.
Intermingled with these questions are also inquiries about starting something political; like a political party. Technocracy is NOT a political party. We do not sponsor Council People, Mayors, Senators, etc. We believe in holding and participating in meetings about what can be done to promote the concept of Technocracy. And, we will do everything in our power to help usher in such a concept, but again, we are NOT a political party.
What is Technocracy?
"Technocracy is science applied to society"
“Technocracy is technological social design”.
“Technocracy is a blueprint of a new method of social operation”.
"A Technocracy is a society in which the economy uses energy quanta for measurement and control, in place of monetary values".
These are brief descriptions of a very large subject. Technocracy is proposing a fundamental change in both the economy and in forms of governance in North America. So first, it is necessary to explain the need for such a change, and then to describe the change itself.
The U.S.A. and Canada together constitute a ‘high tech society’ of continental dimension…one in which the operation of our society is dependent on a vast array of installed technology and a high rate of energy conversion to run it. It is a continent-wide structure, a high energy ‘machine’, providing the means whereby we live. It is manned by an ‘army’ of engineers, scientists, technicians and operators of many kinds, without which it would not continue.
Any serious interruption of this high-energy, high-velocity structure and its staff, which are our life support, would quickly result in massive loss of life and an irreversible collapse of our industrial society. The instabilities now developing in the financial structure plus the twin crises of Peak Oil and Global Warming threaten just such interruptions. Such an interruption cannot be allowed to happen.
But now, in 2008, it appears that such an event is probable. With Peak Oil, (peak energy) and the Global Warming crisis now developing, it is becoming ever more apparent that our present form of economy and our present form of governance are structurally incapable of taking effective action. A new administration, a ‘ Plan B’, is called for by an ever increasing and vocal group of writers, scientists, legislators, and ordinary citizens. Technocracy, we submit, is that ‘Plan B,' enabling a continuance of the technology, with its operating staff, that will ensure our survival. Here then is the ‘raison d’etre’ for Technocracy, the ‘Core Concept’ that defines it.
The Core Concept Of Technocracy
The core concept that is unique to Technocracy Inc .* (established 1934) is simply this: In a 'High Tech' society (such as North America) to ensure stability, and continuity, it will be necessary to institute measurement and control of the economy by energy units instead of monetary units (money), and management of the economy by energy budgets instead of money budgets, at all levels, including consumer credits. That's it! Due to Peak Oil (and global warming) that need is here and now! Technocracy provides an energy efficient design for survival. *(Founded by Howard Scott. 1890 – 1970)
The challenge facing our technological society in America is unprecedented and of such a magnitude that no one can avoid it and every man will be involved in the struggle of our civilization to survive. The following pages will present in some detail the design of the North American Technate and also of the membership organization- Technocracy Inc. - that brings it to the public. You, as a member, can be part of this.
Our Objectives
"The
objectives of Technocracy Inc. are that it is our job to keep ahead of the
events and keep the public of this country and this Continent informed of
the trend of events and technological design most capable of operating this
complex on this Continent for the general welfare and common good -- to
provide and distribute an abundance to everyone with a maximum of conservation
of resources -- human and otherwise." Said by our founder, Howard Scott, on June 23, 1950
"Whatever the future of Technocracy, one must fairly say that it is the only program of social and economic reconstruction which is in complete intellectual and technical accord with the age of which we live."
Technocracy has always insisted that the type of social operation it offers is not just desirable; it is necessary. Man cannot continue to live at all on this Continent without drastically changing his methods of management.
Technocracy Inc. has established this directory to help in obtaining
the correct information of the scientific analysis and concepts established
by the organization. The word "Technocracy" was the name given
by the scientific investigative organization called the Technical Alliance
to identify the concept of a scientific functionally controlled government.
The Technical Alliance was the forerunner of Technocracy Incorporated. The organization of Technocracy Inc was established in 1933 as a non-political,
non-profit volunteer membership organization to educate and inform the
public of the results of the 13 years of scientific research by the
Technical Alliance.
The Internet is an invaluable tool in enabling the public to access
the original scientific investigation of the North American Continent
by the Technical Alliance. The general usage of the Internet has led
to some confusion because other individuals or organizations are also
using the name "Technocracy". No other postings on the Internet
are official Technocracy Inc. informational outlets.
We have an Outstanding Heritage
