The Board of Governors for Technocracy, Inc. extends to you a note of appreciation for your interest.
"As members of this unique organization we realize that the scientific analysis of Technocracy's design can be understood as a study. It must be approached somewhat like that of any science subject one would attempt to learn.
Our membership consists of men and women of all walks of life. Technocrats are not perfect. For the most part, they are people willing to give up security and conformity in order to live their lives with a measure of truth. Their quest for factual and ethical existence has brought them into conflict not just with vested and powerful economic interests but also with the materialistic values of society at large - values that are turning this continent, and soon the world, into a devastated land.
Use this information as you will. Society can ignore the analysis and the synthesis of Technocracy's studies at its peril. Economic, social, and environmental events will eventually overtake us - events that could mean the end of our vaunted technological civilization. We no longer have a choice, only a chance - a chance to change the direction in which we are headed and begin the reconstruction of the North American Continent."
AUTHENTICITY
To ensure that the public has access to the founding organization of Technocracy Inc, we must post this advisory.
Technocracy Inc. became the informational arm of its predecessor the Technical Alliance by order of incorporation in the state of New York in 1933. Headed by Howard Scott and assisted by sixteen men and one woman from an array of scientific and educational disciplines, the Alliance led to the concept of Technocracy and the social design of science – the concept of the Technocracy of North America, which would be the world’s first functional society.
The research and study by the Technical Alliance (New York, NY, 1918-21) marked the first time in history anywhere in the world that a country or Continent was objectively examined and analyzed on a functional multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary basis, and not as nations and their people have always been compared and rated – and still are – on the basis of their political, economic/financial ideology, their military forces, and their philosophical premises. Instead, the Technical Alliance measured and assessed the extent of the land’s natural resources of soil, metals, fuels, hydrology and its natural resources, its transport, communications, and construction capabilities, its industrial and technological productive capacity, its available scientific, engineering, biological trained personnel – all to determine whether this Continental area could provide an equitably individualized high optimum standard of living for its population, and, if so, how this would be brought about.
The following is a brief summary from an original Technical Alliance document: " … to survey the possibility of applying the achievements of science and social industrial affairs." "… to work out a tentative design of production and distribution completely coordinated." "… production defined as manufacturing and furnishing of goods and services necessary to satisfy the wants of man in given standards of comfort." "… engineering estimates of production processes – material specifications, plant locations, related industries, and distributing methods – estimates given in qualitative and quantitative terms – of machine hours, pounds, cubic feet, ton-miles, heat units, etc." "… to put the technical knowledge of the country at the service of the people so that industry may be released from the present chaos imposed … by arbitrary rule of extraneous non-mechanical (financial/political) control.”
"We acknowledge" the fact that many are copying much of Technocracy Inc's material. There would be no problem with this action – we are on this site to have people learn of the only program that will counter the problems confronting our area. Our concern is that some entities want to use our name to further their own agenda for personal reasons, or that misguided people and their organizations want to stifle social change to ensure their continued control in our existing economic and political structure.
"We Acknowledge."
